Privacy Policy

Overview

The SCM SaaS Metering Extension (“the Extension”) is an enterprise tool deployed by organizations on devices they own or manage. Its purpose is to help organizations monitor, measure, and optimize their use of SaaS and web applications. The Extension is configured to report usage information to a server operated by the organization deploying it (“the Organization”). It is intended for enterprise use and is not designed as a consumer product.

Information Collected

While active, the Extension collects the following information for its metering functionality:

• Browsing information: Web addresses (URLs) and page titles of monitored pages visited in the browser.
• Visit information: The date and time associated with each recorded visit.
• Browser and platform information: Browser name and version, operating system, platform, and language.
• Identifiers: A randomly generated device identifier and session identifier used to associate recorded activity with a device and session.

The Extension does not intentionally collect page contents, form inputs, passwords, or keystrokes. However, URLs and page titles may themselves contain sensitive information.

How the information is used

The collected information is used solely to measure and optimize the organization’s SaaS and web application usage. It is transmitted only to the SCM server operated by the deploying organization, at a server address configured by that organization’s administrator.

How the information is shared

The Extension integrates directly with the Organization’s on-premises infrastructure, transmitting data only to the locally hosted application.

Data Storage and Security

Data is transmitted to the organization’s server over the network and is protected in transit by a cryptographic signature to prevent tampering. Pending data is held temporarily in the browser’s local storage until it is successfully sent. Once received, the data is stored and managed by the deploying organization under its own data-retention and security policies.

Data Privacy and Your Rights

Because the Extension runs on your Organization's infrastructure, all browsing data is controlled by them—not by us. Your Organization manages this data in accordance with its own policies and legal requirements. For questions about data collection, retention, or to request access and deletion, please contact your IT administrator or designated privacy contact.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the Extension or its data-handling practices. The “Last updated” date will be revised when changes are made.
